What’s Been Happenin’?!
Hey Good People!
As many of you know, my husband and I are expecting our third son this month and I am super elated!! I can’t wait to meet my baby!
Time has flown by since my last blog entry, so I figured I’d give you an update on what's been going on in my life and some refining lessons I’ve learned.
Primarily, I’ve been busy going to doctors' appointments, getting things in order for Raby Baby #3’s arrival, preparing for what maternity leave looks like as a homeschool momma, and pausing my spinning plates of work responsibilities and obligations.
One thing I want to do in this new season of motherhood is to be intentional about being fully engaged and present in real life. I am believing God for a smooth transition as I take this new season one day at a time. While balancing all of this, I’ve encountered circumstances that have birthed opportunities to learn some valuable life lessons. I’ll take a moment to share a couple with you:
#1. Persevere through disappointment and follow God’s peace through uncertainty and storms.
I’ve experienced a series of disappointments over the past few months that caused delays, interruptions, and heartbreak. When we encounter situations like these it can cause us to throw in the towel or give up. But each time I felt like doing that, I was encouraged by the Holy Spirit to keep pushing through and to follow God’s peace. Sometimes when we think about God’s peace, we believe that peace means that everything should be “in order and going according to plan”. But peace isn’t the absence of obstacles but it is calmness and direction even in the midst of chaos. So even when things looked like they were falling apart or weren’t going to work out, God’s peace always led me in a different direction for a God-ordained outcome. And in every instance of disappointment, I experienced God in new ways as being faithful, a provider, and close to the broken-hearted.
#2. God is always constant and never changes.
This is a truth that’s going to keep us anchored in life. God’s track record is the only one we can solely depend on. He transcends time, seasons, the rise and fall of kingdoms, nations, and governments, and every single change we experience on this Earth. I’ve experienced much change and some trouble these past few months but not once did God change!
“So we do not give up…we have small troubles for a while now, but they are helping us gain an eternal glory. That glory is much greater than the troubles.” ~ 2 Corinthians 4:16-17
So, we don’t have to remain discouraged by the changes and troubles we experience because God’s character will always prevail! We can always count and depend on Him!
Oh! And one more thing…
I want to share a few of my favorites from my maternity shoot with you!
A quick story about these! My original plan for maternity pictures that I had set since June didn’t work out and was canceled 2 weeks before my appointment for reasons out of my control, which caused disappointment and forced me back to the drawing board to find a photographer & studio. But y’all know how God operates and provides something better even beyond the expectation of what you had in mind!
Life Lesson #4,089,…. Don’t let disappointment keep you from moving forward and trusting God to provide. Because He always does and WILL!
We are thankful for all the love, support, and blessings we have received in preparation for the arrival of our little guy! Please keep our family in your prayers as we transition into a new season as a family of 5. Also please let me know how I can be praying for you!
