Dualities || Happy New Year!

I fell asleep "last year" (I can't hang like I used to) but I'm thankful that I woke up to see another New Year!

2022 was filled with many dualities for our family, just like this picture.

Victories and Lessons.

Celebrations and Sorrows.

Happy Times and Hard Times.

And honestly some have lingered into the New Year. But that’s life.

BUT, even in the midst of the dualities, one thing that remained the same was the dependability and goodness of the Lord.

Here are some of my takeaways from 2022:

  1. God is constant. It’s people and circumstances that change.

  2. Emotions are fickle, but purpose is lasting.

  3. It’s ok to be "the only one” and there is safety in the multitude of godly counsel.

  4. The Lord is our avenger and shield.

  5. There's nothing like being covered under the wings of the Almighty!

As you begin your New Year,

I want to leave you with this reminder about the duality of human time and God’s time:

Sometimes things in life don’t begin or end at designated calendar-marks of time. God ultimately holds all time in His hands—time that is beyond our human, finite measurements. His measure of time is infinite and far beyond what we can even comprehend. God can orchestrate a new beginning or ending at any moment within His perfect timing; not just when the calendar year turns a page.

“But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: To the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years is like one day.” -2 Peter 3:8

“To you, a thousand years is like the passing of a day. It passes like an hour in the night.” -Psalm 90:4

Happy New Year, Good People! And stay with God.

In any and every circumstance I have learned the secret [of facing life], whether well-fed or going hungry, whether having an abundance or being in need. I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose]…” ~Philippians 4: 12-13
